It’s hard to believe, but we’re less than two weeks from the start of the swim season on Tuesday, May 28!

Here are some important topics as we start to transition into the season:

Volunteer Roles

We have several important volunteer roles that still need to be filled as early as possible this season. Here are the specific roles we need help with:

• Are you skilled at turning a menu into a shopping list? Consider becoming our Concessions Inventory Manager!
• Great at organizing big meals? Why not become one of our Concessions Event Leads?
• Do you enjoy being a timer at meets? Think you could lead a couple of meets this season as Chief Timer.
• Enjoy the technical aspects of swimming or willing to learn more? How about becoming a Stroke and Turn Judge?

Are you possibly interested, but have questions? Just reply to this note. We’d love to talk about these opportunities!

New Families Session

Joining a swim team can have a learning curve. But we're here to help! Join us for an information session on Thursday, May 30.

• Little Vikings families: 5:15 to 5:30 PM
• (Big) Vikings families: 5:30 to 6:15 PM

Important Event—Time Trials

Time Trials is a non-competitive meet for the competition team (“Big” Vikings) where we measure swimmers’ time in the various strokes. These times help us select swimmers for the early meets.

Time Trials is also a great opportunity for adults to learn or refresh their skills in volunteer roles. And since we don't have a competing team to share the volunteer load, we need all hands on deck.

So please plan to attend Time Trials on Saturday, June 8, and please sign up for a volunteer role when we open signups.

If you’re looking to buy this season’s suit, Suit Up in Fairfax is our vendor.

If you’ve held off because you thought suits have tended to be pricey, this season’s suits are more affordable. Boys briefs are $33, jammers are $39, and girls suits are $46. (All prices include tax.)
