Vikings 7/19 Sunday Update - IM Carnival jobs, Divisionals forms, Banquet + more
Vikings Sunday Update 7/19
Happy Sunday, Vikings families! We are on the home stretch - this is our final week!!! Despite the poor air quality, we had an incredible week with a big win over Long Branch yesterday to wrap up our UNDEFEATED season. We also had a great B meet with the Daventry Dolphins, and “The Dads” led a great Wednesday Night Clinic focused on fly and IM turns, and some of our younger Vikings had a great morning at the Rolling Hills Lollipop Meet.
This week, we have IM Carnival at Hunt Valley on Monday for our more experienced swimmers mostly, and our final week of morning and afternoon practices ahead of Divisionals for select swimmers on Saturday.
Divisionals assignments won’t be available until Thursday morning - I have a Wednesday evening meeting where I try to see if I can snag any extra open spots for Viking swimmers. Look out for a “Purple Out” pep rally on Friday evening if the weather cooperates - all Vikings are invited!

- Declare for 7/20 IM Carnival by 7/19 @ noon
- Submit Divisionals Form that has been emailed to you by end of day today (the earlier the better!)
- Sign up for an IM Carnival job!
- RSVP for the End of Season Banquet Vikings Banquet RSVP Form
Practice Schedule this Week: Reminder - Little Vikings morning practices have concluded. Come to evening practices for some more fun!
- Morning practice Monday thru Friday:
- 13 and Up: 730AM - 830AM
- 9 - 12: 830AM - 930AM
- 8 and under: 930AM - 1030AM
- Tues (7/21) & Thurs (7/23) evening practice:
- Little Vikings: 615PM - 7PM
- Mixed Age Big Vikings: 7PM - 8PM
- Parents, signups for the last week of Bagel Cafe have been added to the Bagel Cafe Volunteer SignUp. Please grab a shift and help feed some hungry swimmers; it's fun!
*As a reminder, Bagel Cafe closes before the 8U practice ends!
IM Carnival at Hunt Valley 7/20
Jobs Still Needed:
- Awards Clerk - they have fancy ribbons for 1st-12th place, come help us gather ours!
- 2 Timers - we need 2 more! It will be a short meet - they estimate 1.5-1.75 hours.
This IM Carnival is similar to a regular B meet, but for IM only! And (And 8&Under 25 Fly for swimmers who aren’t ready for IM yet but still want to swim!) Declare by 7/19 at noon to let us know if your swimmer would like to attend - IF they meet these requirements:
- 8U fly: no time requirements but should be able to swim it legally
- 100IM for everyone else: Swimmers must have a legal 100IM time from 2025 or 2026 OR a legal 50 time in all 4 strokes from 2026 + coach approval.
Vikings End of Season Banquet 7/26
All Little Vikings families and Big Vikings families are invited to join us in the pavilion/grassy section of the pool for our annual End of Season Banquet on July 26th at 5PM. Dinner from Rice&Spice will be provided, all swimmers will receive a medal and personalized Paper Plate Award, and there will be a slideshow of pictures from the season once the sun sets. You are encouraged to bring camp chairs for the family. For new families, please note that most adults and older swimmers dress nicely for this event - think a cute sundress or khaki shorts and a polo type of outfit. Younger swimmers are about 50/50 on being dressed up or in a swimsuit 🙂 We hope to see everyone there!
