    Divisionals Declaration Process

    Divisionals Declaration Process

Please read this email carefully as it contains important details about the Divisionals declaration process. It is different from every other meet you’ve declared for this season!

This year, Divisionals will be held at Rutherford on July 25th. Divisionals is the last meet of the season, but unlike other meets, it is an individual competition. So swimmers will not be earning points for the team, but rather vying for 1st through 12th place individually. Swimmers will receive their medals/ribbons at the Banquet the next day. There will not be any relays at this meet, but IM will be offered as one of the five strokes.

The exact timeline has not been published yet, but I do know we are starting with Backstroke this year. So, you can probably expect Back/Breast/Fly to be in the morning session, and IM/Free to be in the afternoon session. But, exact timeline and details TBD!

The Vikings can only send two swimmers per age group in each stroke. That means we only have 10 spots in each age group. Swimmers can only swim two events maximum, and they are seeded based on fastest times. All that to say, Divisionals is quite selective and we are very limited in the number of swimmers who will be able to attend. Selections will be announced on Thursday, July 23rd.

In order to declare for Divisionals, you will be sent a Google Form that asks for swimmers’ preferred strokes and other details. We will not use SwimTopia for this declaration because we need extra information from you. These forms will start to be sent out in batches starting tonight and through tomorrow. So don’t fret if you don’t get it tonight! It's coming!

Please let me know if you have any questions.
