Vikings 7/12 Sunday Update - Declare for Meets, Lollipop Meet, Wed Clinic, Banquet RSVP + more
Vikings Sunday Update 7/12
Happy Sunday, Vikings family! While we had some bad luck with the weather on Friday (again!), we had a great week with a B meet at Rolling Valley, IM Carnival at Long Branch, and a home A meet against Laurel Hill. The Vikings were looking strong with another win on Saturday and second place at Relay Carnival!
This week, we have our last home B meet of the season with the Daventry Dolphins on Monday, a Wednesday Night Clinic with “The Dads,” and our final A meet of the season at Long Branch on Saturday.
Little Vikings parents, please take a close look at the schedule below as there are some changes this week with the Lollipop Meet on Thursday. The final morning Little Vikings practice will be this Friday.

Declare for July 13 Home B Meet with Daventry by today @ NOON!
We hope to see all Big Vikings at the last Home B Meet of the season. If your swimmer hasn’t done a meet yet this season, this is the perfect chance to get one in and ease some of those first-time-nerves.
Wednesday Night Clinic (7/15) with Steve Mason and Micah Walters 8-9PM
All Big Vikings are invited to join us at 8PM on Wednesday night for a technique clinic with swimmer dads Steve and Micah. The dads are excellent swimmers and have a ton of knowledge to share!
Declare for 7/16 Lollipop Meet by TOMORROW @ NOON
All Little Vikings and young Big Vikings (who don’t swim in B meets yet) are invited to attend this just-for-fun Lollipop Meet at Rolling Hills on July 16th! If your swimmer is curious about what a swim meet is like, or nervous about competing in a swim meet, this is a great opportunity to see what it's like, but with no pressure whatsoever. Click here to sign up for the Lollipop Meet!
IM Carnival at Hunt Valley 7/20 - Declare by 7/19 @ noon
This IM Carnival is similar to a regular B meet, but for IM only! And (And 8&Under 25 Fly for swimmers who aren’t ready for IM yet but still want to swim!) Declare by 7/19 at noon to let us know if your swimmer would like to attend - IF they meet these requirements:
- 8U fly: no time requirements but should be able to swim it legally
- 100IM for everyone else: Swimmers must have a legal 100IM time from 2025 or 2026 OR a legal 50 time in all 4 strokes from 2026 + coach approval.
If your swimmer does not meet these requirements and would like to swim at Relay Carnival, log in to SwimTopia and make sure their events for our B meets with Daventry on Monday allow your swimmer to do so. You still have time! I will be enforcing these requirements pretty stringently at the request of our host. I also have to provide our list of volunteers ahead of time, so please sign up for a job now!
Vikings End of Season Banquet 7/25
All Little Vikings families and Big Vikings families are invited to join us in the pavilion/grassy section of the pool for our annual End of Season Banquet on July 25th at 5PM. Dinner from Rice&Spice will be provided, all swimmers will receive a medal and personalized Paper Plate Award, and there will be a slideshow of pictures from the season once the sun sets. You are encouraged to bring camp chairs for the family. For new families, please note that most adults and older swimmers dress nicely for this event - think a cute sundress or khaki shorts and a polo type of outfit. Younger swimmers are about 50/50 on being dressed up or in a swimsuit 🙂 We hope to see everyone there!
Please fill out this form by 7/23 to let us figure out the headcount for dinner.
