Vikings 7/5 Sunday Update - DECLARE FOR 7/6 B MEET AND RELAY CARNIVAL BY NOON TODAY!!!
Happy Sunday, Vikings Families! We have one of our busiest weeks ahead of us with a Monday B Meet, Wednesday Relay Carnival (select swimmers only), and a Saturday A Meet. Thank you to all of our volunteers who braved the heat on deck with us yesterday. It was a hot one (evidence below!), but the Vikings walked away with another resounding win! Please read to the bottom of this email for important info about IM Carnival.
Action items: A number of declarations are due soon. Log in now and knock them all out!

Declare for July 6 B Meet at Rolling Valley by Sunday (7/5) at NOON!
Log in to the SwimTopia app and tell us if your swimmer is available for the July 6th B meet at Rolling Valley by noon on 7/6. Please remember to select different events than those swam on 7/4 (exceptions can be made for swimmers only legal in free and back). We hope to see all Big Vikings at this meet!
Jobs Still Needed:
- Awards Clerk: Hang with our lovely data crew and put labels on ribbons - it's kind of fun!
- Marshal - Come get a a great view of the pool and be empowered to yell at annoying people. Truly a win-win.
Declare for July 8 Relay Carnival by Sunday (7/5) at NOON!
Log in to the SwimTopia all and tell us if your swimmer is available for the Wednesday night Division 16 Relay Carnival at Long Branch. Like an A meet, this Relay Carnival is competitively seeded, so not all swimmers will be selected. You will find out on Tuesday (7/7) by midday if your swimmer has been selected. The Relay Carnival is an extra-fun meet where each age group will compete in a free relay and a medley relay in addition to the mixed age free relay in an attempt to win points for Village West!
Declare for July 11 Home A Meet v Laurel Hill by 7/6 @ 9PM!
Tell us if your swimmer is available or not for the next Home A Meet. You will find out on Wednesday (7/12) if your swimmer has been selected.

Declare for July 13 Home B Meet with Daventry by 7/12 @ noon!
We hope to see all Big Vikings at the last Home B Meet of the season. If your swimmer hasn’t done a meet yet this season, this is the perfect chance to get one in and ease some of those first-time-nerves.
Village West Pool Relay Rally
Sunday, July 12; 4:30pm @ Village West
Join us for a splash-tacular, all ages relay race! Please see below for complete details and register your team today!
- This is a just-for-fun race - the goal is to laugh and have some family splash time!
- This event is open to all pool members (adults and kids) as long as you can swim a length of the pool! (The wee ones can join in if accompanied by a swimmer age 16+)
- Rally your family to form a team of 4 (or put together another group of 4)
- Each team member will swim 25 meters - any stroke is allowed for any part of the relay (even doggy paddle)
- All swimmers must start in the water - no diving is permitted!
- Pizza and drinks will be available for sale after the race!
- Registration is required by Thursday, July 9- use the link below to register your team today and/or check out our volunteer needs!
- Advance registration is required, and no on-site registration will be available!
2026 Lollipop Meet at Rolling Hills 7/16
All Little Vikings and young Big Vikings (who don’t swim in B meets yet) are invited to attend this just-for-fun Lollipop Meet at Rolling Hills on July 16th! If your swimmer is curious about what a swim meet is like, or nervous about competing in a swim meet, this is a great opportunity to see what it's like, but with no pressure whatsoever. IM Carnival at Hunt Valley 7/20
This IM Carnival is similar to a regular B meet, but for IM only! And (And 8&Under 25 Fly for swimmers who aren’t ready for IM yet but still want to swim!) Declare by 7/19 at noon to let us know if your swimmer would like to attend - IF they meet these requirements:
- 8U fly: no time requirements but should be able to swim it legally
- 100IM for everyone else: Swimmers must have a legal 100IM time from 2025 or 2026 OR a legal 50 time in all 4 strokes from 2026 + coach approval.
If your swimmer does not meet these requirements and would like to swim at Relay Carnival, log in to SwimTopia and make sure their events for our B meets with Rolling Valley and with Daventry next week allow your swimmer to do so. You still have time!
