All About 7/4 A Meet #3: Village West Vikings v Ilda Community Clippers:

This Saturday we have our first Away A Meet of the season at Ilda Community Pool. If your swimmer is swimming in this meet, please read this email closely for important information.

THIS MEET STARTS 1 HOUR EARLIER THAN USUAL - AT 8AM! Please check your updated Job Start Time. Basically, expect to be ready to go as needed by 7:30AM. Marshals will need to be on deck before our warmup can begin.

Expectations: We expect to see great sportsmanship from all of our swimmers. Parents, please talk to your swimmers about this expectation. This includes cheering/clapping politely for the other team, staying in the water after a race until all swimmers are finished (this includes the last leg of the relay!!!), shaking hands across lanes after races, and being supportive and encouraging to all swimmers on both teams. We also expect to see all of our swimmers be gracious losers - please talk to your swimmers about this if you know they often have big emotions!

Theme: Red, white, and blue!

Location: Ilda Community Pool - 8900 Braeburn Drive, Annandale, VA 22003

There is plenty of overflow parking along Braeburn Drive once the parking lot is full.

Note: There will NOT be a Lollipop Race at this meet in order to speed things up as much as possible!

Timeline: ARRIVE BY 7:10 FOR WARMUPS AT 7:25!

Arrival: 7:10

Warmups: 7:25 - 7:45

Meet Starts: 8:00

What to Bring: Camp chair, swim cap, goggles, towel, sunscreen, money for concessions, personal fans, LOTS OF WATER! Your swimmer might enjoy frozen washcloths to help cool down - bring them in a lunchbox or small cooler bag!

Attire: Swimmers should wear their team suits and caps. If you do not have a team suit, wear another competition-approved suit (no tie backs!). Find me if you need a new Vikings cap!

All deck officials (including timers and marshals) should wear a white shirt and navy blue bottoms.

Concessions: Concessions will be open - menus provided for your perusal. They accept cash and Square, so that's easy!
