Village West Vikings host the Walden Glen Wahoos 6/22

A “B” meet is an unscored meet where all swimmers are invited to swim and gain competitive experience. No one wins or loses, so it is very low pressure! Swimmers are just trying to do their best and improve their own times. Little Vikings are invited to a Lollipop Race across the shallow end at 6:15!

We have quite a few job positions we still need filled. If you have a child swimming, please do your best to have at least one adult volunteering!

If you are not lugging equipment to the pool, please park in the neighborhood to save the parking lot for our guests. Thank you for your kindness!

Arrive at Village West by 5:10PM to be ready for 5:30PM warmups. Older swimmers and families are encouraged to arrive earlier (430PM+) to help set up the pool!

Expectations: We expect to see great sportsmanship from all of our swimmers. Parents, please talk to your swimmers about this expectation. This includes cheering/clapping politely for the other team, staying in the water after a race until all swimmers are finished, shaking hands across lanes after races, and being supportive and encouraging to all swimmers on both teams. (We saw great sportsmanship at the A meet on Saturday. Thank you parents and swimmers!)

One note: Please tell your swimmers they can NOT chant “Big Q! Big Q!” while cheering for Coach Quincy. It sounded like we were chanting “DQ! DQ!” at the meet on Saturday, and while obviously unintentional, it upset some of our Water Rat friends.

Schedule:

Arrive by: 5:10PM
Viking warm-ups: 5:30PM - 5:50 PM
Wahoo warm-ups: 5:50 PM - 6:10PM
Officials briefing: 6PM
Mini swim: 6:15PM
Meet start time: 6:30PM

Order of Events: Free, Back, Breast, Fly, IM. Swimmers can leave after their last event.

Attire: Swimmers should wear their team suits and caps. If you do not have a team suit, wear another competition-approved suit (no tie backs!). Find me if you need a new Vikings cap!

All deck officials should wear a white shirt and navy blue bottoms.

Concessions: Concessions will be open for dinner! We will have burgers/dogs, and chipotle bowls with steak or chicken. Come hungry! We accept cash, credit, tab, and tap.

Jobs still needed:

• Concessions Grill Master - We need your help to cook Natalie’s tasty creations!
• Concessions Server 515-715 - Come work the line and hang out with the rest of the concessions crew - they’re a great bunch!
• Time Checker - This is also known as the Place Recorder at an A meet - B meet job names are changing a little this year. Come hang out with our lovely data crew - they will show you the ropes!
• Timer - We need 2 more timers! This is perhaps the most fun job at a meet - you get to see the races close up and chat with your fellow lane timers.
• Verifier - Come hang out with the data crew and compare a printed results sheet with time cards. No experience necessary!
