All About Saturday A Meet, switch to regular morning practices, pep rally, declare for B meet + more

Village West hosts Rutherford 6/20 A Meet #1

The Village West Vikings are hosting the Rutherford Water Rats for our first A Meet this Saturday, 6/20. If your Vikings are swimming in this meet, please read this email carefully for important information. General information for all swimmers is in the sections below.

Athlete Entries are attached to this email - check this document to see if your swimmer is swimming (if you aren’t especially SwimTopia savvy!). You only need to attend this meet if you are swimming. (Heat sheet coming soon!)

All Little Vikings are invited to do a Lollipop Race across the shallow end before the meet begins! Be at the shallow end at 845 to get ready.

Expectations: We expect to see great sportsmanship from all of our swimmers. Parents, please talk to your swimmers about this expectation. This includes cheering/clapping politely for the other team, staying in the water after a race until all swimmers are finished, shaking hands across lanes after races, and being supportive and encouraging to all swimmers on both teams. Parents, please talk to your younger swimmers about checking the whole pool and staying in the water until all swimmers have finished the event. We had a lot of new swimmers hopping out immediately during Time Trials!

    Timeline & General Info:

Arrive by 740AM to ensure your swimmers are ready to hop in the pool for warm-ups at 8. Older swimmers and families are strongly encouraged to arrive early (7AM+) to help set up the pool!

Declare for Monday (6/22) Home B Meet by Sunday (6/21) at NOON!

Please select two strokes that your swimmer is most likely able to swim legally. (Remember - it can’t be the same strokes they swam on 6/20).
